Supervision For Dietitians

Protected Time For In Depth Reflection On Your Practice.

My 60-minute face-to-face or Telehealth supervisions sessions are all about you.

Bring your agenda and you can expect to feel listened to and well-supported as you explore, learn and reflect on your practice.

Supervision will help you feel better equipped and supported in managing complex cases, develop and sustain a high quality of practice, lead to greater job satisfaction and can prevent burn out.

What Is Supervision?

Dietitian Supervisions Resources Australia states that; “Supervision is a professional activity that resources Dietitians personally and professionally to do their work well.”

“Supervision is a joint endeavour in which the practitioner with the help of a supervisor, attends to their clients, themselves as part of their client practitioner relationships, and the wider systemic context, and by doing so improves the quality of their work, transforms their client relationships, continuously develops themselves, their practice and the wider profession.” – Hawkins and Shohet Supervision in the Helping Professional (2012)

Supervision is an activity routinely embedded in the ethical practice of psychologists. However, more dietitians are realising that to prevent burnout and feel supported in their practice, they not only need supervision but deserve it too.

About Me As Your Supervisor

Hi, I'm Ged

As a trauma-informed, Health at Every Size Dietitian, Credentialled Eating Disorder Clinician and Certified Intuitive Eating Counsellor, I’ll hold a non-judgemental space for you to explore, learn, reflect and grow as a Dietitian. I aim to create an atmosphere of kindness, trust and collaboration where you feel comfortable being vulnerable, as well as leaving our sessions feeling empowered with actionable steps to move your practice forward.

I have a special interest in Eating Disorders, Disordered Eating, Body Image concerns and how these intersect with gastrointestinal health.

I bring to our sessions years of experience not only as a Dietitian, but also as the owner of a private practice, teacher and supervisor of dietetics students and owner and operator of a primary care service for my local community.
