The Nuts And Bolts Details Of Working Together.

Making Your First Appointment

To book your first appointment you can use my online booking system or get in touch with my lovely admin team who will be more than happy to help you out.

I have face-to-face and telehealth appointments available on Tuesday and Wednesdays between 9.30am – 5.00pm.

Once your appointment is booked, you will be asked to complete my Pre-Appointment Form. This form gathers information about your medical history, hospitalisations, medications, supplements, consent for treatment and information about payment, rebate options and my cancellation policy.

I ask that you complete the Pre-Appointment Form at least 48-business-hours before your first appointment. If you have any recent blood tests, colonoscopy or endoscopy reports please also send them to me ahead of our first appointment.

The Initial Assessment

My initial assessment is usually undertaken over 1-2 sessions. Each session is 50 minutes long.

During this comprehensive assessment I will be asking many questions related to food, movement, and your social circumstances. I will also undertake an assessment on your relationship to food, body image and current eating patterns.

Your consent is important to me, so if there is anything you feel uncomfortable discussing, I invite you to let me know.

Review Sessions

During review sessions, I will work collaboratively with you to identify any challenges that may be preventing you from reaching your goals and any new areas that you may wish to work on.

The number of times we meet for a review session will depend entirely on your reason for an appointment, referral, your goals, and readiness to embrace change.

Review sessions are also 50 minutes long.

Have Questions About Nutrition Counselling? Here Are The Answers To Some Of My Most Common Ones.

Yes, I do support people in their recovery from an eating disorder. I work with adolescents and adults.

Please note: If you have a diagnosis of an eating disorder, disordered eating or you are diagnosed while we are working together, I reserve the right to terminate our sessions should you refuse to engage with a GP for medical monitoring and a psychologist for mental health support.

While I wish I could give you a definitive answer, healing from a lifetime of indoctrination in Diet Culture is not a quick process. Here’s what I can tell you though:

My assessment process takes around 1-2 sessions. Then the number of times we meet to review will depend entirely on your reason for an appointment, referral, your goals, and readiness to embrace change. But this is something we can work collaboratively on.

My session fees are $160. Initial appointments require a 50% non-refundable deposit.

Medicare rebates of $56 or private health insurance rebates are available where eligible. Please ask your GP or Health Insurer if this will apply to you.

Meal plans are generally a collaborative process worked on together in session if it is deemed necessary.

No, you don’t need a referral to work with me, however if you are eligible, your GP can write you a Chronic Disease Management Plan or Eating Disorder Treatment Plan which will allow you to claim a rebate back from Medicare for our sessions.

I understand that things come up in life that mean you can’t meet at the time we had arranged. I ask that you please provide at least 48 hours’ notice by email or phone if you are unable to make a scheduled appointment. Failure to do so will incur a cancellation fees as follows:

  • With less than 24 hours notice, the practice will charge my total fee of $160.00 – you cannot claim any rebates.
  • With less than 48 hours notice, the practice will charge my half fee of $80.00 – you cannot claim any rebates.
